California Republican Steven Showers intends to exercise his freedom of speech to the fullest by creating and installing a 14-foot-high neon sign that promotes his website “RomneysRacistHeart.Com.”

The website was created for the purpose of exposing what Showers considers to be a white supremacist ideology behind the Mormon faith that Romney embraces, while urging fellow Republicans to join him in saving the GOP from being associated with such beliefs.

Mitt Romney is a proud Mormon, and does not hesitate to speak of his involvement in his church, however Showers believes it’s a religion with a racist doctrine.

On his website Showers writes that the Mormon doctrine states: “White skin indicates a pure character before God. Anything less than white skin indicates a corruption of character before God. Black skin, according to Mormon Doctrine, is an indicator of the worst corruption of character before God.”

theGrio: Will black Mormons back Romney over Obama?

And when speaking about Romney, he said “a racist heart must never receive the Republican Party’s nomination for the office of the presidency. And Romney has an indisputably racist heart.”

Steven Showers is a 59-year old white Christian Republican who has been attracting mixed reactions from different people who have seen the sign that he placed on his front lawn.

Showers has been ordered by county officials to either remove the sign or reduce its size, but he insists it will stay that way at least until the Republican convention in Tampa is over.

The Mormon church has rejected any racially insenstive dogma from its past, and they expressed “disappointment” that such a sign could be put up.

Showers’ neighbors have called his actions “appalling” and “obnoxious.”
